St. Robert Bellarmine Chapel Renovations
This summer we are looking forward to several exciting updates to our chapel, both structural and artistic. We invite you to consider establishing a memorial in honor of a loved one by donating one of the following additions to the chapel.
This tabernacle, which will be moved to the center of the sanctuary behind the altar, offers more interior room than our current tabernacle and has an inner glass door that will allow us to offer Eucharistic adoration more easily and more often. It is gold (the picture is the silver version) in the Spanish Renaissance style and features an image of the Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the door. This fitting place of reservation of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be the center of the chapel.
Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary
A statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be placed in the sanctuary on left hand side of the tabernacle (from the congregation). The statue being considered is from France and was made in the 19th century. It stands 42 inches high and is hand carved wood and polychrome (hand painted).
Statue of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus
A statue of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus will be placed in the sanctuary on the right hand side of the tabernacle side of the tabernacle (from the congregation). This statue being considered for the space is from Belgium and was made in the 19th century. It is 47 inches high and is made of hand crafted wood and polychrome.
Statue of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
A statue of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be placed in one of the alcoves at the front of the church. Pier Giorgio Frassati was known as the "Man of the Beatitudes" and was beatified by Pope St. John Paul II on May 20, 1990. He was an engineering student and served the poor while living a robust life of joy and peace before dying at the age of 24. Since he is a newer saint we are still int he process of locating a fitting statue.
statue of St. Therese of Lisieux
A statue of St. Therese of Lisieux will be placed in one of the alcoves at the front of the church. St. Therese of the Child Jesus (known as the "Little Flower") is a Doctor of the Church and patroness of missionaries. We are still trying to locate a fitting statute of this great saint.
2 Candle racKS
These special candle racks make it easy to have devotional candles in the alcove shrines to St. Therese and Bl. Pier Giorgio. We light candles as a sign of our constant prayer and the light of Christ shining in the world.
