As always everyone who wnet had a lot of fun while building up friendships and a relationship with God through the CCM community
At the beginning of every school year Catholic Campus Ministry embarks on a beach retreat to Virginia Beach, VA for a weekend. There are separate retreats for freshmen and upperclassmen. During the retreat there are great talks by fellow students and staff, free time to swim, and of course, plenty of good food! Come enjoy the refreshing weekend of fellowship and spend some time away from the busy school year!
We'll head down to a huge house on the water at Sandbridge Beach (just south of Virginia Beach) and spend the weekend getting to know people, learning more about our faith, taking time for prayer and discussion, and of course, hanging out on the beach. The cost for the whole weekend is only $35! (You'll spend that much on food if you stay on campus!)
During the Spring semester, CCM goes on a second retreat. In past years the retreat was based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and includes plenty of time for personal reflection, silence, prayer, and fellowship. It is planned and guided by the staff who give talks, guided reflections, and much of their own free time to meet with students who just want to talk. Last year around forty people went on retreat with us and all of them had a blast!
This Spring we had two reteats: Spiritual Bootcamp - which taught about developing a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and helped students further their relationships with God through all persons of the Holy Trinity. Encounter with Christ - a student-run retreat, full of fellowship and peer-lead activities. Peer testimonies, small group discussion, silent prayer time, games and the Sacraments are all a part of this nation-wide program.
